The Wicked mixtape lives up to its name: Hardcore bars over slow as fuck boom bap beats sprinkled with some cuts, drops, and snippets. I saved most of the songs just for this concept tape. I wanted to capture a particular sound and flow. So, Wicked was mixed in several stages and is very production-heavy. It's been a while since I've re-edited so many songs and put so much energy into snippets and arranging sounds. I hope it makes your heads noddin'!
After the taboo topics of religion and violence, it was finally time to do a porn cover. Of course, my main man Herr van Toll had to take the cover photo. He knows about nude photography and did the lighting for Oliver Rath for some time. If you think you've seen the cover motif before, you're not mistaken. It's a tribute to the cover inlay of Too $hort's You Nasty album from 2000. I grew up on Too $hort's music, but he never made it to one of my mixtapes. With the cover, I want to expressly pay respect to Too $hort.
